Martin a wily, cagey, and cunning veteran proved his critics wrong when he became the oldest player to score a goal for the Athletics 5/11/05 @ Sapulpa Boys (35 years 5 months and 12 days). Martin appeared only once in the fall campaign and in a rather odd fashion as he (an attorney) thought the team held a one goal lead as opposed to the two goal lead the team actually held and pioneered the new position of Defensive Striker wherein one substitutes in to be an attacking player but never leaves his defensive third of the field because one believes the team is only up 1 goal, instead of 2.
